It sometimes still surprises me when I see people who are surrounded by highly motivated people yet still do just enough to get by. To me it shows that they just miss the point.

beach in fijiLife is not about getting the right incentives to do something, its not about getting the same things in return for your time that most other people do, as most people just work in jobs that they’re not too fussed about, and are just there to earn there money so they can apparently then go and live their life. Hmmm… live your life for all but the 40 odd hours a week you spend working, doesn’t really sound like all that full a life to me, 40 odd hours is a lot of time every week, it seems to me that if you’re really into living life, best you figure out what you’re doing with your ‘work’ and make it part of your life.

The road to mediocrity

path in vietnamIf you want to be like most people then sure follow them, one things guarenteed here, you’ll get the same results. If you want to carve out your own space in this world, find your life’s purposes and directon and follow it, make a difference on something you believe in, then you’ve got to push the limits - go where most people don’t go, thats the only place you’ll find something more, something special. It may sound harsh, but there’s a reason most people don’t achieve all that much, they spend there time following and living to the standards of most people, rather than setting their own, and you are what you focus on.

Wakey Wakey - Ready when you are

So if you’re just doing enough to get by, then you’re missing the opportunities that are right in front of you. Either you can keep convincing yourself of all the constraints you have, or how you’d be motivated if only you had your own business, or you can wake up and take control of your life. Motivaton starts with you, and you can grab it anytime, anyplace. You’ll soon realize that you can’t rely on changing your situation every time you want to get fresh motivation, as anyone with their own business knows that persistence is King and Queen #1.

The stuff that dreams are made of

So break your 9 to 5 routines, forget the clock, forget telling yourself that you’re working for someone else, its your time and your choice, do what you’ve got to do, and a whole lot more, and just see what happens when you follow your nose and not the bare minimum. It might just lead you to a place where all your dreams come true.
